Jane Hendrickson – Owner/Developer
Jane is the owner/developer of River Centre and the driving vision behind each new development. With over 30 years of experience in single-family and multi-family home developments, Jane has worked with every aspect from design and land development, operations management to financing projects from construction to permanent placement of debt.
Boxer Girl was established in 2012 as the entity to begin community growth in southern Indiana led by Hendrickson. In 2014, the City of Huntingburg and Boxer Girl were awarded Stellar Designation through the State of Indiana to build for-sale homes to accommodate workforce housing residents. The community is complete, and the economic impact was over forty million dollars for the City’s tax base.
River Centre was known as the old Jasper Cabinet Company and sat vacant for over twenty years before Hendrickson designed and built the new community in downtown Jasper. The project’s concept and construction took over seven years to complete.
Hendrickson taught at Purdue University in the Construction Management School and welcomed giving back her knowledge to the future leaders of our country. She also attended Marian University and is a board member of the Byrum Business School located in Indianapolis. Hendrickson was a charter member of Women in Land Development and Women in Real Estate Developmen – Indiana Chapter.
Boxer Girl, LLC
Boxer Girl, LLC was established in 2012, with a goal of serving smaller communities throughout Indiana. Boxer Girl works within communities to develop parcels of land that are in need of redevelopment and revitalization, helping to turn them into destinations that are both useful and beloved by a town. Every community is unique and Boxer Girl recognizes that working with city leadership is essential in creating a space that is not only functional but a reflection of the individuality of the town it serves.
Every development is different, but Boxer Girl places a large focus on how the members of a community live, work and play together. In single-family home developments, there is a focus on building homes with porches and homesites with sidewalks, encouraging residents to take advantage of open space, get to know each other and develop a real sense of community. Not only does this create a safer place to live, but it provides a grounded feeling to the families it serves, helping them to remain in place longer.
